About Tristan Powell
Tristan Powell is an inspiring young racing driver from the UK. At the age of 12, Tristan took an interest in the BTCC touring car championship and developed a love for racing by watching some of the finest British drivers fighting it out for the championship in the BTCC. In the summer of 2019, at the age of 12, Tristan asked his parents to have a trial in a go-kart and this is where the journey began.
Tristan soon wanted to compete in the Inkart Championship at Daytona in Milton Keynes. Tristan showed he had a talent for the sport, racing against drivers with years of experience, he managed to compete with the best corporate kart junior drivers on the grid and soon wanted to move into 2-stroke racing.
In April 2021, Tristan tested a DRS100 100cc 2-stroke race kart at Whilton Mill Karting circuit, he instantly loved the speed and adrenaline of 2-stroke karting and he was hooked! In 2021, with the help of his sponsor, Britmet Lightweight Roofing, he entered the DRS (Daniel Ricciardo Series) and competed with another 25 drivers, travelling around the UK to race against the top drivers in his class as a rookie. Tristan showed his true potential claiming p2 in qualifying at Clay Pigeon raceway. Considering his experience, Tristan really showed his ability as a rookie, being at the front of a grid of experienced drivers showing his peers what he could do. Tristan finished the season in 16th and learnt a lot from his first year of racing.
In 2022, Tristan will compete again in the DRS championship with the help of his sponsors, Britmet Lightweight Roofing, Flegg Projects, and Pixel Concepts.
